:: 28.03.16 :: Biso na Biso
Biso na Biso means “amongst us” in Lingala (DR Congo) and consists of portraits of two Congolese brothers and a Belgian brother and sister mixed up in one portrait. A piece of each face on display in Belgium, while another piece is pasted in Kinshasa. Both posters will interact with the busy street they will become part of. Who belongs where? And why? Don’t we all deserve to be wherever we want?
To symbolise the gap that shouldn’t exist between people of poor and rich continents, a third portrait, consisting of yet another set of pieces of them four, is being portayed in Dunkirk, watching the sea, the promised land, the unreachable shore. All of them, shattered into pieces yet together, dispersed over different continents.
This project is influenced by JR’s Inside Out Project, and came to being after the two Congolese brothers fled into illegality during a stay in Belgium last summer. They are as brothers to the Belgian brother and sister, indeed, love isn’t bound by frontiers nor influenced by colour.
The Belgian poster will be wheat pasted in Ghent – Sint Pietersnieuwstraat on the 25th of March. Dunkirk and Kinshasa will follow.
A one hour video will be shot of each poster looking over it’s environment in the public space. This artistic installation will be presented during the SNS festival on 8-9th of May. Additionally 6 smaller posters will be transformed by Congolese, Belgian and in exile living artists (TBC). These pieces of art will also be presented during the SNS festival.
:: 26.03.16 :: Water war at Buda

Mistah Matt and Boomin Sep took on a new adventure all the way up east. They created an art – in – the – public – space – event in Cebu (Philippines) to ignite interaction with the locals on the street, artists, designers, skateboarders and more crazy souls! Using the hapag (traditional basket handmade out of bamboo) as a bearer. Check out the video!
Pssst… there’s a long version too. Find it here.
